Equipment and technology for crushing of ferro-concrete products

The technology is intended for crushing of concrete, ferro-concrete products, including off-grade, strong mineral formations.

The technological process is grounded on use of a high-voltage electric discharge produced between a special electrode and an object to be crushed both placed in a container (a technological bath) filled with liquid (water).

This technology is used:

  • To crush and refine mineral formations, concrete and ferro-concrete products of almost any durability to the sizes necessary for further applied technologies (production procedures);
  • To save essentially raw material sources at the expense of return to manufacture of high-quality secondary raw material (all-metal fixtures, embedded parts, crushed stone, etc.);
  • To exclude dust formation, to improve sanitary-and-hygienic working conditions of workers, and also environmental conditions.

Application sphere: mining industry and building materials enterprises, dismantling and reconstruction of buildings, constructions, etc.

The technology is realized by electrohydropulse plants similar to multipurpose plants for cast cleaning, e.g. EHP "Breeze" with its technical characteristics and description given below:

Technical characteristics of EHP "Breeze":

  • Productivity of ferro-concrete product crushing to complete fixture release, t/h, no less than
  • Maximum sizes of a ferro-concrete product for crushing, m
  • Concrete type
  • Power supply voltage, V
  • Consumed power, kW
  • Electric energy consumption, kW h/t, no more than
  • Service personnel, persons

Crushing of concrete and ferro-concrete products is carried out as follows:

The products to be crushed are loaded by workshop appliances on the special pallet which sinks in the technological bath filled with water. Working electrodes are supplied to treatment initial points (electrodes in the course of crushing move along its intended trajectory) and the high-voltage equipment switches on. Crushing of objects is done due to energy generated in the discharge channel.

By varying the energy rate in the discharge channel and the pulse number it is possible to provide for a necessary level of crushing (refining) of a treatment object.

Productivity and power consumption of the process depend on strength, initial sizes and required level of crushing of an object.

Upon termination of crushing the high-voltage electric equipment is disconnected, and also the electrodes are taken away in initial position. The pallet is hoisted from the technological bath and is released from crushed blasted material, fixtures, etc. and the next portion of material is loaded, the operation cycle repeats.

The plant is operates remotely at all stages of the technical process by one operator.

The specialists from the Science and Technology Center "VEGA" render their assistance to the Clients in mounting, adjustment and commissioning of EH plants, consult on the issues concerning the technology of electrohydraulic treatment of products taking into account their specific features and range, train the service personnel, perform warranty and post-warranty service of the equipment. For specific orders STC "VEGA" at IPPT can develop a special design project of EHP to satisfy the Client’s local conditions (the listed products, available buildings, etc.).
