An operating principle of the equipment is grounded on use of high-voltage discharges in a liquid produced between an electrode and a treatable object and accompanied by a complex of physical phenomena, the so-called electrohydraulic effect being an electric explosion in a liquid generating a powerful pressure pulse transferred by the discharge channel to the treatable object body, powerful shock waves and liquid hydrostreams. Their complex effect initiates oscillations both in a treatable object body and in salt deposit, evoking crack formation in the later and also their delaminating from the surface of treatable objects. Serially produced multiple-purpose electrohydropulse plants are inappropriate for these specific purposes, as they do not allow for making an optimum technological process and have large sizes. To maintain optimum technological treatment modes, the structural layout of a low-power electrohydropulse plant is developed and tested having the following technical characteristics:
The plant is operated as follows: The pump section subject to treatment is arranged and fastened on a special utility. The discharge chamber with supplied water sinks on the pump casing (see the figure) and the high-voltage equipment switches on. The process of electrohydropulse treatment starts during which the deposits are crushed in the clearances between the casing and the detachable part. Treatment is performed at pump casing simultaneous rotation and discharge chamber reciprocating travel along the pump axis. Leaked water between the chamber casing and the pump casing is collected into a water tank and then it returns to the discharge chamber. Upon termination of treatment the pump section is extracted and delivered for dismantling replaced by the new one. The cycle repeats. The specialists from the Science and Technology Center "VEGA" render their assistance to the Clients in mounting, adjustment and commissioning of EH plants, consult on the issues concerning the technology of electrohydraulic treatment taking into account their specific features and range, train the service personnel, perform warranty and post-warranty service of the equipment. For specific orders STC "VEGA" at IPPT can develop a special design project of EHP proceeding from the Client’s local conditions (product range, available buildings, etc.). |

In the Science and Technology Center "VEGA" the technology and equipment are developed on purpose to facilitate the process of used (salted) immersion centrifugal electric pumps (ECP) dismantling, namely pump extraction from the casing due to salt deposit destruction between the pump casing and the detachable part and considerably less efforts necessary for extraction of the detachable part from the pump casing.
